During his opening act for Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium in New York, American rapper Macklemore used the stage to convey a pro-Palestinian message. He shouted “Free Palestine” and performed his protest song “Hind’s Hall” while displaying images from Gaza on the stadium’s massive screens.

While Macklemore decided to lash out against Israel, fans in the audience expressed feelings of shock and insult over the unexpected political turn at a pop concert.
