In the run-up to the United Nations General Assembly’s general debate, which opens next week, Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism has launched an international campaign exposing how the UN has promoted a false, anti-Israel narrative since October 7
The digital campaign targets journalists, diplomats and policymakers, with the aim of directing them to examine the sources presented on the campaign’s website. The site is divided into six sections: Information Manipulation by UN Actors; Toxic Institutional Culture; The Famine That Wasn’t; UNRWA Compromised; Manufacturing a Genocide Narrative; and Self-Reinforcing Ecosystem
The ministry published several testimonies and quotations from senior officials and experts within the UN system, offering an inside account of what it described as a culture of silencing, pressure and data manipulation. Among them is Alice Wairimu Nderitu, the UN special adviser on the prevention of genocide:
“I was bullied and harassed every single day… This has never happened to me in any other war—not in Ukraine, not in Sudan, not in Myanmar. The focus was always on Israel… By taking one side and condemning it every day, we completely lose sight of the purpose for which the UN was established.”
